The Division of Economic Policy within the Department of Economics and Economic Policy of the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) has the honor to invite you to participate in the scientific conference ‘Transmission and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the agricultural sector’. The conference will be a forum for debate of the scientific and non-scientific communities from Poland and abroad on the factors, channels and mechanisms of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on agriculture, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the agricultural sector though demand and supply channels, and the economic and social effects caused by the pandemic crisis in agriculture and rural areas.

 The conference will take place on December the 15^th 2023, at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS-SGGW) and online on the Microsoft Teams platform. Participation in the conference is free of charge.

The conference will address a range of areas, including: 

1. Channels and mechanisms of pandemic transmission in domestic and world literature.
2. Factors and mechanisms of the impact of the pandemic on agriculture in Poland.
3. The importance of demand channels in the transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic to the agricultural sector.
4. Impact of the pandemic on agriculture through supply channels.
5. Connections of agriculture with the world economy as a transmission channel.
6. Economic and social effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on agriculture and rural areas.
7. Threats to agriculture in Poland caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
