The Institute of Economics and Finance (IEF) of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) is actively participating in the creation of the Masovian Living Space, an innovative space for collaboration between residents, local governments, and the scientific community, being developed as part of the international research project LandShift.

The project aims to develop a new, sustainable model of land management that responds to the challenges of climate change and supports the ideas of a New European Bauhaus. The Masovian Living Space is intended to become a place for dialogue and joint action for the future of the region’s landscapes.

On October 8, 2025, the first phase of work on this unique initiative, which is being developed as part of the project entitled “Community-Created Living Spaces in Changing Landscapes for Climate-Resilient Land Use Management and Supporting a New European Bauhaus” (acronym: LandShift), was completed. The LandShift project is implemented by the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in collaboration with 26 partners from six European countries. The consortium leader is the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence at the Cyprus University of Technology. Research work will continue until 2027. The initiative is fully funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe program. Its primary goal is to develop sustainable land use strategies in Europe that will help combat climate change and protect the environment.
