An important field of activity of the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW is the cooperation with units from the social and economic environment and the implementation of projects meeting the needs of the partners.

  • Cooperation with business entities is based on the so-called cooperation agreements. Such agreements vary depending on the specifics of the entity with which they are concluded.
  • The Institute’s employees are active members of expert teams appointed by state bodies or institutions as well as foreign or international institutions. In the years 2009-2012, they cooperated in this way, e.g. with the following institutions: European Commission, OECD General Secretariat, Representation of the European Commission in Poland, National Bank of Poland, Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics, National Research Institute, Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Agriculture and Development Rural areas, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of National Defense, the Agricultural Market Agency, the Association of Polish Banks and the Center for Banking Law. A number of expert opinions and scientific studies prepared at the request of entrepreneurs, economic organizations and state institutions were also carried out.
  • The project currently underway “Innovation Cluster in Agribusiness” received funding under the Regional Operational Program of the Masovian Voivodeship for 2007-2013. Its main goal is the transfer of knowledge to broadly understood business (S2B), increasing the efficiency of technology and knowledge transfer between participants of the Cluster, and as a result the increase of the innovative potential of Mazovia. The National Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Center in Agribusiness (CITWA) project is co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development as part of the Innovation Creator Program – support for innovative academic entrepreneurship. The project involves the implementation of a number of initiatives aimed at creating conditions at the University for the provision of services regarding the transfer and commercialization of knowledge from the WULS-SGGW to the economy and the promotion of academic entrepreneurship among the University’s employees and students.
